Symbolic blessings you can include in your elopement, wedding or event

I have travelled worldwide which has allowed me to be able to learn about and offer a ceremony that brings together different cultures and religions. Please don't hesistate to contact me should you wish to include a blessing not found here.

 Hand blessing

Sand Ceremony
Wine Ceremony
Hand fasting

An ancient gaelic marriage ritual giving meaning to the expression "tying the knot". It is a beautiful ceremony which can incorporate family members fabrics such as your grandma's lace from her wedding dress, your mother's vintage jewels and such to honor your heritage whilst representing your union.

Unity candle ceremony

This is a ceremony usually performed in a catholic ceremony, representing the union of the couple as they each light their own candle, and together their union candle. This ceremony can be extended to include children the couple may have, with the light representing the lives shining as one family.

Cord of three strands

Again usually performed in a religious ceremony, one cord represents the brides life, the other the grooms and the middle cord God. The braiding of the cords demonstrates more than the joining of two lives, but their unity with god as well. Different colours to reflect personal significance or wedding colours can be chosen for this and kept as a keepsake for years to come.

The wedding tree

Planting a tree at a ceremony is an ancient tradition and one shared amongst numerous cultures around the world. The roots represent the entwining of lives. The plant itself when nurtured, will grow and blossom and it is hoped, weather all storms like in marriage needing extra love and care sometimes more than others. If a couple marry in a location wedding but still wish to have a wedding tree ceremony, a larger plant pot can be used so the plant can accompany you on your journey home.

A sand ceremony is an elegant symbolism which is immediately identifiable. With the bride and groom each choosing a different colour of sand which represents the individidual lives and personalities, once mixed, the sand grains can never be sepearted. A beautiful representation of two becoming one.

A thai hand blessing is a moving ceremony where a family member is invited from each side of the wedding party to pour water over the couples embraces hands whilst a hand blessing poem is read. The ceremony symbolisis two families becoming one.

A wine ceremony is fairly new, with couples who marry in or around vineyards or just have a love of wine choosing to opt for this. With red and white wine poured together, it is a fun way of representing two different lives flowing into one. After this ceremony is performed, rose can be given at the toast as a sweet reminder of this ceremony.
